The elves are still madly busy here packing and posting the Life Class. They have taken orders for more than 150 so far and they are still coming in. A whole box full has gone off to the beautiful island of Menorca.  Ken Draper RA, alias Crazy Heart, is the subject of a chapter of the same name. We went to see him and his artist wife Jean Macalpine shortly after Hercules and the farmer’s wife  was published. He met us at Mahon airport and immediately asked what he had to do to get into the next book. ‘Do something outrageous,’ was my answer and he did. The evidence is in that chapter.  He has ordered so many books that I think he may be setting up a pop-up book shop over there!

I’ve given the elves a day off this Saturday though because they need a rest and I will be at the gallery -  meeting, greeting and signing between 12.00 and 2.00. I have a feeling I may be there a little longer than that.  I hope that all of you within a reasonable distance will come in. It will be great to see you all again. In any case I will leave some signed copies at the gallery in case you can’t make it that day.

It is also the last day of the Donald Wilkinson show so you can enjoy that as well before it comes down.

So come and spend the day in Cockermouth. The big switch on of lights happened last week so the town is looking really bright and cheerful.  It is a good place to do your Christmas shopping as it has so much to offer. There are so many independent shops in the town and lots of good places to eat, drink or have a coffee.

See you soon
